What information does Trivory collect?

The Trivory app collects your role, grade, and device information, including your unique device identifier and analytics data. The Trivory app will also store your notification preferences if you change them, and the poll options you've voted for if you vote on any polls. If you send any feedback or support requests, everything you enter will be sent to us. If you have iCloud/Android app-data backup enabled, local app settings will be stored on iCloud/Android backup servers. The Trivory app may request your location when using the bus tracker. This data is sent to TriMet, and is not stored by Trivory. Check TriMet's privacy policy for more information. Trivory uses Google Analytics in order to collect information about users of the service. We do not combine the information collected through the use of Google Analytics with personally identifiable information, and our use falls within the bounds of the Google Analytics Terms of Service. If you choose to import data from a Google Docs or Google Sheets document, Trivory will access and store the contents of any documents you import. Trivory's use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

What is your information used for?

Your information will only be used to make Trivory function. Your device identifier is stored in order to identify which device information is being sent from (such as notification preferences). We store your poll votes in order to show public (or private) results. We ask for your role and grade in order to avoid serving you content that isn't relevant to you. Trivory may request your location in order to show you nearby bus stops when using the bus tracker. Analytics data is used to improve the service and identify problems. We share basic analytics data (such as your role and grade) with the schools and programs that you join in order to help them better understand their audiences. Feedback that you submit regarding a school or program's content, or any general feedback that you indicate is directed towards a school or program, will be shared with that school or program. Any data accessed from Google Docs or Sheets documents will be stored for the sole purpose of satisfying your request to import data from the document into other Trivory features.

But what if I don't want you to store my information?

The minimum information that the Trivory app must store in order to service you is basic device information, analytics data, notification preferences, your role, and your grade. In order to prevent any additional information from being stored, don't do any of the following:
Disabling iCloud/Android app-data backup can be done in the settings of your device.

How is your information protected?

Since we do not store or transfer any sensitive information, your information may not be saved with an encryption on Trivory servers. The connection with Trivory servers is secure (https). The way your data is stored/sent to third party servers (such as TriMet) is not in our control, and this may or may not be encrypted.

Do we disclose your information to outside parties?

Your information is not transferred to outside parties. This does not include trusted third parties who assist us in operating this app, conducting our business, or servicing you, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential. We may also release your information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our app policies, or protect the rights, property, or safety of anyone.

When does my information get deleted?

Information collected by the Trivory app will only be deleted after an extended period of inactivity, or upon request.

Although it is unlikely to happen, this privacy policy can change at any time without notice to you. Keep checking this privacy policy at least once a day to see if it is updated.
